The Griffon Choir held a concert in St. Mary's Church, Tenby, recently in aid of choir funds. The concert was well attended and the audience were treated to a very varied programme, from Mendelssohn's 'Lift thine eyes' to 'Super-Trouper' by Abba, with numbers by Gershwin, Hammerstein, John Rutter and Sir Hugh Roberton in between - not to mention something in Welsh and something in Zulu!

A new addition to the choir's repertoire was 'Amazing Grace', an arrangement of the American hymn by John Rutter in which the soloists were Susan Blick and Marilyn Allen.

Whilst the choir rested their voices, the audience and choir alike were entertained by special guests, Dr. John Harrison and Rev. Andrew Davies, performing two piano duets by Handel - the Arrival of the Queen of Sheba and music for the Royal Fireworks.

Later in the programme, they played Pomp and Circumstance March No. 4 by Elgar, and this was followed by Andrew Cusworth playing a cello solo, Prelude from Bach's Cello Suite No. 1.

The Griffon Choir, conducted by Judy McGilloway and accompanied by Andrew Cusworth, closed the programme with 'The Lord bless you and keep you' by John Rutter, and 'As long as I have music' - one of the choir's favourite numbers.

Grateful thanks to Dr. John Harrison, Rev. Andrew Davies and to Andrew Cusworth for their performances during the concert, and to everyone in the audience for supporting the Griffon Choir.
