The Tenby Techno Team from Greenhill School are ‘buzzing’ after making it to the First Tech UK Championship final, representing Wales in April.
48 teams from across the UK will take part in the finals to be held at the London Copper Box Arena on April 21 and 22, for two days of epic competition.
Youth teams will go head-to-head with their robots and present to industry judges as they compete to be crowned ‘More Than Robots’ champions.
The Tenby Techno Team at Ysgol Greenhill have been taking part in the ‘First Tech Challenge’ with Mrs Vicki Price the teacher who has guided them to the National First Tech Challenge Finals in London this month, after they became the ‘Welsh Regional Inspire Award Winners 2025/26’.

With the motto ‘More Than Robots’ inspiring this next generation of robot builders, Greenhill students have designed, built and programmed a robot to take on a global challenge!
“We will be so proud to fly the flag for Wales in the finals in London. Huge thanks to all who have supported us along the way,” the team recently shared on social media.
“Thank you to our sponsors Valero Pembroke Refinery and Tenby Round Table for helping us get this far and Marc Ingram for the advice.”

Sponsor, Valero Pembroke Refinery shared: “With our support, these impressive students have been able to secure essential components to design, build and code a fully functional competition robot, developing real-world STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), teamwork and problem-solving skills along the way.
“The Techno Team has been competing since 2019, previously reaching the London regional championships and proudly supporting other schools on their own techno journeys.
“We’re delighted to play a part in their continued success and wish them the very best of luck in the challenge ahead!”
