Green-fingered pupils at Manorbier School were blooming this week with the official opening of the school's new garden area.
The attractive garden is the result of nearly four months work by pupils and the local community, although the idea took root two years ago when a new playground was laid at the school.
The top soil from the playground was removed to another area of the yard and roughly laid out into shape.
Twice a week from February this year, pupils of the school's gardening club, together with parents, grandparents and members of Manorbier Gardening Club, have been transforming the area into an attractive landscaped garden.
The project was boosted by a cheque for £100 from the Skrinkle Tenants and Residents Association (which was presented at the official opening of the garden on Monday).
Further support and sponsorship was received from Manorbier Community Council, Carew Patios, Pembroke Patios, Talbot Timber and Thomas Scourfield and Sons.
