A REGULAR beach clean by a group of people with learning difficulties has earned them a prestigious environmental award.
The Llanreath Coastcare Group - run from the Anchorage Social Activity Centre in Pembroke Dock - undertake a weekly clean of their local beach.
The work enabled them to receive a special award and a £100 prize from Tidy Wales.
The citation says: 'As a result of this project, group members have enhanced their presence and have learnt new skills which they use to give something back to their own community as well as helping the environment'.
The award was presented to the group by Pembrokeshire County Council chairman, Clr. Mickey Folland, and cabinet member of the environment, Clr. Brian Hall, in a recent ceremony in County Hall, Haverfordwest.
