Celtic Camping in St. David's was the venue for the first Girlguiding Pembrokeshire Outdoor Party (POP) event at the end of August.
With fantastic weather and around 300 girls and volunteers, it was the first county residential event to involve all members of Girlguiding.
The Brownies were based in the bunkhouse accommodation, whilst the Guides and Senior Section girls camped.
The girls enjoyed activities which were a little out of the ordinary from the ones they usually do when going away with their units.
The Guides enjoyed adventurous activities such as coasteering, jet boat rides, abseiling, pony trekking and the Brownies learnt how to light fires and cook during their bushcraft sessions! The Rainbows joined in on the Saturday with activities provided by the Darwin Centre.
Also attending the event was Tori James, Girlguiding Pembrokeshire president, who opened proceedings on the Friday evening and Marianne Osborne, Girlguiding Pembrokeshire chaplain, who was on hand throughout to lift everyone's spirits!
The opening ceremony on the Friday evening included a campfire and fireworks and on the Saturday night the girls danced the night away to Tuxedo Funktion (move over One Direction)!
All in all, it was a fantastic event and big thanks must go to all the leaders and volunteers who helped with the event and to Celtic Camping for their ongoing support.
