Sir,

Through your letters page, on behalf of the Saundersfoot, Tenby and District Macmillan Cancer Support Fund-raising Committee, I would like to express my thanks to everyone who contributed to make the Midsummer Jazz at Colby Woodland Garden on Sunday, June 21, such a huge success, raising £950.

Special thanks go to Cynthia and Tony Scourfield Lewis for graciously allowing us to share their Walled Garden on such a lovely evening, to Elizabeth Sleight, the National Trust events co-ordinater at Colby, who turned the event from a dream into a reality, and to the three talented young musicians from Greenhill School, Sam Turton, Corey Morris and Kim Brickell, whose performance was the highlight of the evening.

Elizabeth and I have already started to make ambitious plans for Midsummer Jazz at Colby 2010.

Hope to see you there!

Angela Woods,

MCS honorary treasurer,

Saundersfoot.
