Sir, It was my birthday on Saturday and I was being treated by my husband to a romantic visit to Tenby and Saundersfoot where I spent my childhood family holidays. The weather was unbelievable. While walking round the statue of Prince Albert, I put down my handbag to take photographs. We then wandered off around the town and then on to Saundersfoot, when I suddenly realised that I no longer had my handbag! Quelle horreur! It contained my entire life! New mobile telephone, cash, credit cards, debit cards, perfume, lipstick, the kitchen sink! We rushed back to Tenby, not having a clue where it had been left. The kind lady in the Caldey Island shop gave me the telephone number of the local police station, where its loss was duly reported. I then called my mobile phone (inside my handbag!), only to discover that the kindest gentleman in the whole world had found it by the statue and handed it in to the museum! He did not leave a name, but I should like to thank him most sincerely through your newspaper in the hope that he reads this message. I should also like to express my gratitude to the ladies in the museum who answered my phone (with a ringtone of a cockerel crowing!) and who looked after it until we arrived back at the spot. A HUGE thank you to them all.
