A grass fire between Amroth and Pendine, which Tenby and Narberth firefighters initially fought to extinguish last week, continued to cause problems after re-igniting twice. The fire crews began their battle at Ragwen Point, near Marros, shortly after 11 am on the morning of Wednesday, August 1. Five hours later they thought they had extinguished the fire, but at 4.30 pm it re-ignited. A tender from Whitland joined the Tenby and Narberth crews to help extinguish the blaze just after 11 pm. However, the Whitland crew were back on the scene again on Saturday afternoon, when the fire again re-ignited. This time, after establishing there was no danger to property, it was allowed to burn itself out. Firefighters from Whitland also extinguished a four hectare gorse fire at Garness Farm, Pendine, at 12.20 pm on Sunday.
