TENBY born conductor Grant Llewellyn will be conducting the BBC National Orchestra of Wales at two important concerts for the Swansea Festival of Music and the Arts at the Brangwyn Hall this year.

The first of these concerts is on Saturday, October 11, and features the Welsh premiere of New York Oscar-winning composer, John Corigliano's a Dylan Thomas Trilogy, alongside Richard Elfyn Jones's Brangwyn Festival Overture (a festival commission of 1984).

Not only will Grant be conducting BBC NOW, but also BBC National Chorus of Wales, the BBC Singers, baritone Roderick Williams - who wowed audiences at the Last Night of the Proms at the Albert Hall - tenor Robin Tritschler, organist Adrian Partington and a boy chorister from Hereford Cathedral for this large and exciting work.

Grant returns to Swansea again on Friday, October 17, to conduct BBC NOW for their ever-popular Family Concert - which comes to Swansea for the first time.

This is an amazing concert for families, and a great way to introduce young people to the sound of classical music and full-scale orchestras by combining popular classics and music from TV and film.

As an added extra, for 45 minutes before the concert there is the unique opportunity to try out instruments from the orchestra for yourself!
