Members of Saundersfoot Community Council were recently given an update on the village’s ‘Lonely Tree’ by the ‘Grounds Committee’.

Clr. Martyn Williams BEM told fellow members that he had recently attended the PAVS ceremony at the Regency Hall and was pleased with both the event and the award of a grant of £480 to the Lonely Tree Preservation Society from the Saundersfoot Treasure Chest funding.

“It was lovely meeting so many worthwhile organisations that enhance our village,” he said, before advising that he and Nicky Mallen from the Lonely Tree Preservation Society would meet on a regular basis for catch ups regarding the rare Monterey Cypress that sits alongside the village’s beach, as well as organising separate meetings with Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Tree officer Mike Higgins and arborist Adrian to discuss the next stages to ensure the tree is maintained safely.
