The photograph shows members of Llanteg History Society at a recent visit to the Hywel Dda Centre, Whitland. The History Society have been lucky enough to be awarded a grant of over £3,000 by the Heritage Lottery Fund for the following purposes; WI booklet, House History booklet (20th century), a picture book of old village families, a laminator, large aerial photograph and a map of the village both for display in the Village Hall. The society is also grateful to the Co-op Community Fund who have donated £100 towards the cost of producing the WI booklet which it is hoped will be published by the end of July.
The History Society had a very enjoyable visit on Sunday, June 15, to see the vast amount of artefacts and ephemera that Mr. Peter Thomas, of Kilgetty, has collected over the years. Not only were they amazed to see such a large collection, but they were astounded by Peter's extensive knowledge of all his items. Everyone agreed that there had been so much to see that they would like a return visit one day.
The next meeting will be held, as usual, in the Village Hall, on Monday, July 21, at 7.30 pm. There will be a lot of catching up to do as the society has not had an ordinary meeting since March, and they also need to finalise details of their exhibition on July 29 and 30.
