A Grand concert in St. David's Cathedral next month will provide a showcase for the award-winning choir from Pennar Community School, Pembroke Dock.

The 35-strong choir will appear on the same programme as the popular Pembroke and District Male Voice Choir.

The concert, one of the main fund-raising events for the Pembrokeshire Counselling Services, takes place on Saturday, June 13, 7.30 pm.

Formed 57 years ago, the male voice choir includes choristers from Pembroke, Pembroke Dock, and as far afield as Haverfordwest, Neyland and Kilgetty. Its musical director is Christine Lloyd.

The choir has encouraged young singers by holding an annual junior school choir competition for South Pembrokeshire over the last 16 years. Pennar Community School is this year's winner.

Tickets for the concert, priced £7 each, with children under 16 free, are available at the door.
