Members of the St. Florence and Narberth Shotokan Karate Clubs recently held a very successful assessment day under the guidance of Shihan Mike O'Brien 8th dan, of the Karate Union of Wales.

Approximately 60 students were assessed, with a high pass rate, which reflects their hard work and commitment. Three successfully passed their 1st dan and three their 2nd dan. Congratulations to all!

There are Karate Union of Wales clubs in St. Florence, Templeton and Narberth and they are affiliated to the Welsh Karate Governing Body which is recognised by the Sports Council for Wales.

The clubs practice traditional shotokan karate and are well established in the local area.

Starting on Friday, January 6, from 6.30 to 8.30 pm, there will be a class starting at the Tenby Leisure Centre.

Anyone interested in trying karate can call the St. Florence and Tenby club instructor on 07791 404536 or the Narberth instructor on 07794 728452. Both of these instructors are fully qualified and registered with the WKGB and have recently been trained as coach assessors.
