Becky Harries, star of Pembrokeshire College's golf academy, met a host of celebrities recently when she caddied at the Europe v USA All Star Cup, which was held at The Celtic Manor Resort in Newport.
Becky demonstrated her own golfing skills by winning the caddies' tournament, which allowed her to choose which celebrity she would caddy for. Becky chose Cold Feet actor James Nesbit.
"I had a fantastic time," said Becky. "James Nesbit was really friendly and a pleasure to caddy for. At one point I was even able to offer him some advice to help him get out of a bunker - and the shot went straight into the hole!"
Becky also met several of the other stars competing in the event, including Catherine Zeta Jones and Michael Douglas, TV's Ant and Dec, Chris Evans, singers Robbie Williams and Ronan Keating, and actors Patrick Duffy and Cheryl Ladd. Stars of sport such as Steve Redgrave and Matt Dawson also took part in the event.
Huge crowds of spectators watched as Europe won the cup, captained by golfing legend Colin Montgomerie.
"The whole experience was amazing," Becky added. "But the highlight of the day was when the caddies were invited onto the green after Europe had been presented with the cup. It was a great end to a really memorable occasion."
Becky's next challenge is to compete in the Faldo Series Final, which will take place on Sunday, September 18, at Celtic Manor.
