The West Wales Local Association of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) has raised over £3,000 through its second annual charity golf day, held at South Pembrokeshire Golf Club. The money raised will be shared equally with RICS's charity LionHeart, a benevolent fund for RICS members and their families, and the RWAS Royal Welsh Agricultural Society, which is responsible for running the Royal Welsh Show every year. A total of 26 teams of four golfers from a variety of construction, property, banking and professional services companies took part. The South Pembrokeshire golf club team with captain Vernon Phillips, vice-captain Bob Gale, Mike Williams and Harold James, scoring 77 points, took the winning title. In second place were the South Haven Construction team and the third and fourth positions were taken by Jeff Cole and friends and W. H. & N. L. Developments, respectively. Lloyds Bank won the Best Bank team award, Mainport were the Best Contractors team and Guy Thomas & Co claimed the Best Agents team prize. Event organiser, Richard Ormond FRICS, partner with Guy Thomas & Co, commented: "The event was a great success and was helped along by the glorious weather on the day of the competition. I'd like to thank everyone that took part and raised such an amazing amount of money for two very worthy causes."
