Celebrating their Golden Wedding anniversary on New Year's Day are well-known Tenby couple, Bill and Christine Davies, of Sea Vista, Crackwell Street.
The couple were married at the town's St. Mary's Church on January 1, 1952, by the Rector at that time, Rev. Hallam.
The ceremony was followed by a reception in Church House, during which the couple cut a magnificent four-tier horseshoe design wedding cake which Bill had made.
Bill is the son of former Mayors of Tenby, the late Wallace and Iris Davies, who ran a bakers shop in St. Julian Street, while Christine is the daughter of the late Gwen and Frank John, of 29 Victoria Street.
For a number of years, Bill, worked at the family bakers and affectionately became known in local circles as 'Billy Bun'.
The couple were the licensees at the Lamb Inn in High Street for several years, before Bill took up a post as an ambulance technician for the last 16 years of his working career. He also served on Tenby Lifeboat and played rugby for Tenby United.
The couple have two sons, Colin, who lives in Australia, and Richard, who resides in London, and two daughters, Laina Watson, who lives in Tenby and is the stewardess of the town's Royal British Legion Club, and Anne Davies, who farms at Lamphey.
Bill and Christine will be celebrating their special anniversary with a small party for family and friends.
