Congratulations to Ray and Dilys Rees, of Ox Park, Llawhaden, who are celebrating their golden wedding anniversary today (Friday). The couple, who have lived at their Pembrokeshire home all their married life, met at a Miss Pembrokeshire dance in Templeton School, which was judged by Roscoe Howells. Ray, who was born in Maenclochog before moving to Robeston Wathen, worked in general haulage with his father from a young age, while Dilys, who hails from Martletwy, worked as a nanny in Templeton. The couple, who married at Martletwy Baptist Chapel, founded Narberth Sand and Gravel, with their sons Stephen, Philip and David taking over the running of the business when their parents retired two to three years ago. They have four grandchildren, two granddaughters and two grandsons. To mark the special occasion, a party, to be attended by family and friends, will be held at the Nant-y-Ffin Motel in Llandissilio.
