If you are going away, remember tickets, passport, money and to secure your house when you leave.

This is the advice to people leaving to go on holiday from Dyfed Powys Police.

PC Sue Blacklaw-Jones said: "In the coming months, a lot of people are likely to be going away on holidays and their homes will be empty. They could be a target to thieves. We are urging people to take a few steps to ensure that their homes and property will be safe"

A few simple precautions can go a long way to keeping your home safe and secure whilst you and your family are away: give a trusted neighbour a key to your house and ask them to keep an eye on your house and property; ensure that all doors and windows to the property have adequate locks; consider purchasing a timer switch to control lights automatically; cancel all deliveries, including milk and newspapers; do not leave any windows open.
