When it comes to holidays, Byron Bear has certainly had some amazing adventures on his travels around the globe with pupils from Jeffreyston VC School.

As part of the geography curriculum, Class One are involved in a continuous project called Byron Bear which sees the cuddly teddy accompany children, parents, governors, friends and teachers when they visit places away from school.

Then, when he returns, the pupils learn all about the country he has been visiting.

Many of the pupils have already taken Byron on holiday with them and his destinations have included Florida, the South of France and Majorca. Currently he is enjoying a five-week tour of Japan and Australia.

He has also been lucky enough to go sunbathing in the Canary Islands and skiing in France and Austria.

Byron has also been to the London Eye and helped to fly an aeroplane, as well as visiting Bristol Zoo, the New Forest, Center Parcs at Longleat and Wookey Hole Caves.

Byron has his own passport which is stamped by immigration officers when he is abroad and the children keep a diary of his adventures.

When he is not on his holidays, Byron lives in a special corner at the school where the children have created a wall display of the postcards and photographs of his excursions.
