Do you have views on proposals by Pembrokeshire County Council to reduce its highways maintenance and street cleansing budget?
If so, you can put those views forward in the consultation on Pembrokeshire County Council’s draft budget for 2019/20.The consultation was launched on December 17 and finishes on January 18.
It gives people the chance to voice their opinions on a wide variety of budgetary decisions facing the Authority.
Among the council budgets under the spotlight is Highways and Transportation.
The department is proposing a £432,000 cut in its spending next year, which will impact on street lighting, road sweeping, structural maintenance and road resurfacing.
Members of the public are asked to give their views on how acceptable they find the various options put forward, and any further comments.
The budget consultation also looks at the Council’s Licensing Service.
The service is currently based at the Council’s Cherry Grove offices in Haverfordwest, which are due to be vacated.
Members of the public are asked whether they think the service should be re-located, either fully or partly, to the Council’s offices at Thornton Industrial Estate.
The consultation also asks people what their views are on raising Council Tax next year (2019-20). Four different options are presented and a space for comments.
Responses will be compiled into a report which will be presented to Cabinet on February 11, and to full Council on February 21.
The New Year will have further opportunities for members of the public to give their views on the draft budget.
Facebook Live sessions will be held on Monday, January 7 and Wednesday, January 16, from 7 to 8pm (view www.facebook.com/pembrokeshirecountycouncil)
Two further drop-in sessions will be held at Glan-yr-afon/ the Riverside (the new library and gallery) in Haverfordwest. These will be held on Monday, 7th January from 3pm to 5pm, and on Thursday 17th January from 2pm to 4pm.
