More than 70,000 people have made use of Pembrokeshire's coastal buses this year - and many of the services will continue over Christmas and into the New Year for locals and visitors alike.

The buses, provided by Pembrokeshire County Council, are aimed at improving access and reducing traffic congestion in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park.

The Poppit Rocket, Strumble Shuttle, Puffin Shuttle and Coastal Cruiser are funded by the county council, and the Celtic Coaster - which runs in the north west of the National Park - is also sponsored by Voyages of Discovery. The Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority helps to fund the buses throughout the winter.

Pembrokeshire Greenways' Rhian Higgins said: "The coastal buses have carried more than 70,000 people already this year - exploring the county has never been easier. During the summer this year, children were able to use the buses free of charge, which proved really popular.

"Except for Bank Holidays, all the buses except the Celtic Coaster run on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays throughout the winter - so we're hoping residents and visitors will make the most of them over the Christmas period and into the New Year as an alternative to the car."
