Pictured is Gina Wharton who recently ‘braved the shave’ for charity.

As a result of her sponsored effort in Saundersfoot, she raised nearly £5,000 for the Welsh children’s hospice, Ty Hafan.

“What a journey it was,” she said afterwards, “from the idea to do a head shave for Ty Hafan to one of the most awesome days of my life.

“I would just like to say a massive heartfelt thank you to my soulmate for suggesting Ty Hafan as the charity; to Kelly for getting everyone to donate such fantastic prizes for the raffle; to Matt and Tesco’s for allowing the prize draw to be in the shop; to Ricky, Kelly, Luke and all my gorgeous grandchildren, who did me proud with cutting and shaving my hair; Lauren and the Captains Table for giving us an amazing venue and awesome day. And Rocking Rodders for donating their fee.

“Also Reg from Studio 4 for willingly agreeing to do the shave, and all my wonderful family and friends, mine and Neil’s customers, Saundersfoot businesses, community and visitors, for all the support, encouragement, love, messages and compliments.

“Your generosity has raised a staggering £4,782.69 with gift aid for all the children and families who are supported by Ty Hafan. I am blown away,” added Gina.
