This May we will have 3 bank holiday weekends, with Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire having plenty to offer for people wishing to enjoy themselves.

From beaches, museums, cycling and walking routes to theatres, country parks and markets, to name only a few aspects of what both counties has to offer.

This year, to mark the coronation of King Charles III, a three-day bank holiday weekend from Saturday, May 6 to Monday, May 8 will take place to provide an opportunity for communities and people to come together to celebrate the King’s Coronation.

Street Parties - If you are planning a street party, please ensure that you have all the relevant permissions and licences in place. .

Please also consider:

• Food hygiene and noise

• If you are a community or town council, you can apply to install bunting. Remember don’t hang any items from lamppost columns or over pavements or roads.

• Recycle as much as possible.

If you are thinking of an appropriate location to host your celebration, why not consider holding your celebration in one of the many glorious parks the County Council manage - but please respect others and remember to take away your litter.

Cllr. Gareth John, Carmarthenshire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Regeneration, Leisure, Culture and Tourism said: “This May, we will have three, three day, weekends and Carmarthenshire’s tourism sector is gearing to welcome people from near and far to enjoy our county.”

Bank holiday weekends are as follows:

April 29 to May 1 (Early May Bank Holiday).

May 6 to 8 (Bank Holiday for the coronation of King Charles III).

May 27 to 29 (Spring Bank Holiday).
