Are you fascinated by guide dogs? Would you like to support a charity that changes the lives of people in Pembrokeshire who are blind or partially sighted?
Guide Dogs Cymru is inviting people to find out how they can get involved by popping along to a recruitment event at Letterston Hall on Thursday, June 9, from 11 am - 3 pm.
The charity needs volunteer drivers to help guide dog owners arrive safely at talks and events. Other opportunities exist for volunteer fundraisers, who assist the local team with collection boxes, flag days and more.
There are also openings for people over 18 to train as sighted guides, with the opportunity to earn qualifications that can be added to a CV.
Steve Kersley, volunteer development co-ordinator for Guide Dogs Cymru, said: “Volunteering is hugely rewarding. Apart from the satisfaction of knowing that you are helping to make a positive difference to the lives of people who are blind or partially sighted, it is a great way to get involved with and meet others in your community.
“You don’t need any previous experience to volunteer with us - just a willingness to help out and get involved with your community.”
So if you’d like to help us put the fun into fundraising, or you just want to find out more about Guide Dogs, call into Letterston Hall, near Haverfordwest, on Thursday, June 9, from 11 am - 3 pm. For details, email [email protected] or call 07785 907728.
