The Fanfarenzug Stadt Bergen (Bergen Town Band) is visiting Pembroke Dock and Pembroke between Thursday, August 30, and Sunday, September 2, to commemorate 30 years of the twinning agreement between the respective towns. The band was formed in 1958 and currently has 45 members, including 20 members between six and 18. The band plays music to suit all tastes, including waltzes, marching music, pop music and film themes. Fanfarenzug Stadt Band has made a name for itself not only in Bergen and surrounding areas, but also in other countries, including Sweden and Spain. They have also played at numerous town festivals, open-air concerts, birthdays, weddings and Christmas markets. During the evening of Friday, August 31, the band, together with the 'Voices of Pembroke Choir', will perform at a concert at the Pater Hall, Pembroke Dock, commencing at 7.30 pm. Tickets are available at £4 each (concessions £2) for what promises to be an excellent concert. Tickets are available at both Pembroke and Pembroke Dock Town Council offices and also the Pembroke Bookshop. In addition, tickets can be purchased at the Pater Hall on the evening of the concert.
