Georgina Jones shows a selection of her paintings in the Ridgeway Room at Tenby's Art Matters Gallery from tomorrow (Saturday).
Being a well known teacher of watercolour techniques in adult classes in Tenby and Pembroke Dock, students and readers will be less familiar with her paintings in oil.
Here is larger bolder work depicting boys digging on the beach, holiday visitors wandering below Tenby's cliffs, Carew's French Mill standing serene above the Mill Pond and seas crashing below Greenala Fort and breaking on Freshwater East Beach.
She is showing some of her watercolours here too. Georgina grew up near Monmouth and studied Fine Art at Cardiff Art School, followed by an MA at Chelsea College of Art. She moved to Pembrokeshire in 1988. Since then she has exhibited across South West Wales as often as family and teaching commitments have allowed. This exhibition runs concurrently with an exhibition of new work by previous competition prize winners until Friday, October 6.
Art Matters Gallery is situated in South Parade, next door to the fire station, and is open every day except Wednesday, from 10 am to 5 pm. Everyone is welcome and entry is free.
The whole exhibition can be viewed on the gallery website: http://www.artmatters.org.uk">www.artmatters.org.uk. For further information, telephone 01834 843375.
