Sir, Might I, through your paper, say a huge thank you to Park Road Garage, in Tenby, for helping me after my car was towed off the motorway on Sunday, July 13, as I was heading to Tenby to stay with friends. I was driving from Cheltenham with three young girls, daughters of friends of mine, when my traction/ drive shaft came uncoupled near Bridgend.. Luckily the AA relay service proved to be pretty efficient and we were scooped up at 1 pm, 45 minutes later. The AA collected us, and, three low loaders later, deposited us at the Five Arches Car Park in Tenby, where our hosts met us, cameras at the ready. Not significantly late as, although we were expected for lunch at pm, we arrived at 3.30, which was surprisingly quick in the circumstances. My hosts then recommended Park Road Garage where James Jones, Tom and Adam could not have been more helpful. They sourced the parts, which involved going to collect a CV Boot after five others proved incompatible and had the car ready for me four days later when I was leaving Tenby. I had to return that day, I had to take my 'charges' and I could not stay any longer because of various commitments. Three factors that could have been taken advantage of. But Park Road not only collected my car from the Five Arches, without any fuss or charge, spent time 'sourcing' and collecting the part and put up with a nervous owner calling, and calling in, every day. They could have charged me a great deal and I would have paid up to be 'on the road' again. The bill... it was £58, for which they apologised, as the parts came to £20! Gentlemen, one and all!
