Two speakers from Wales Gene Park gave an impressive lecture at Pembrokeshire College on Monday to Welsh Baccalaureate students from Pembrokeshire College and A-Level biology students from the Haverfordwest A-Level Federation who could be based at Pembrokeshire College, Sir Thomas Picton School or Tasker Milward School. Alan Cowe, a genetic counsellor from Singleton Hospital, and Anna Tobin, a mother of a child with cystic fibrosis, gave excellent accounts of their experiences working with children and families with genetic disorders. "The students found it very interesting and informative both from the scientific and personal point of view," commented college lecturer Kate Maynard. "The Federation would like to thank Alan and Anna for giving up their time to speak to the students, and our good wishes go to Anna for all the fund- raising that she and her family carry out for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.
