South Pembrokeshire Assembly Member Angela Burns is pictured at a meeting held in New Hedges to discuss concerns about the future of the Paul Sartori Foundation.
She was able to tell residents about the summit meeting she attended with health minister Edwina Hart, which resulted in the charity being awarded extra funds.
"I was invited to meet a group of residents from New Hedges who were particularly concerned about the future of the charity and myself and new charity trustee, Sara Alderman, went to speak to the residents," said Mrs. Burns.
At the end of the meeting, kind-hearted local personalities, Laurie Dale and Pauline Allen MBE, presented a £200 cheque to Ms Alderman (second left) for the Paul Sartori Foundation.
The Tenby duo raised the money by asking for donations to the charity instead of presents for their 80th birthdays.
Their friend, Elizabeth Watts, explained: "My brother-in-law died of cancer at home and was able to pass away at home because of Paul Sartori's help.
"It meant a lot to all of us and a lot of other people that we all know who have been helped by Paul Sartori. After hearing about their funding problems, they decided to help out.
"Pauline and Laurie do so much for charity and asking for donations instead of presents is absolutely typical of their generosity."
