Sir, On Wednesday, August 11, St. Johns Church, Tenby, held its annual Summer Fair. Being made aware of the situation in Sudan, it was the decision of the church to give all the proceeds to the Sudan Christian Aid emergency appeal. Through your Letters page, I would like to say a very big thank you to all the townspeople and visitors who gave donations and supported the various stalls, the Welsh cakes and soup and bread lunch. As a result of such generosity, both in giving and buying, we collected on the day the wonderful sum of nearly £1,400. St. Johns would like to say a big thank you and your help has enabled more support to be given to the plight of the people of Sudan, and to enable Christian Aid to be prepared for the next emergency.
