A young Pembroke Dock woman is hoping that she could soon be the 'Face of Wales'.

Nineteen-year-old Gemma Hughes, of Military Road, who came second in her first ever pageant in May, only losing out to her sister Hayley, will be competing in the 'Face of Wales' event later this month.

If she is placed in the top five, she will then go on to compete in Disneyland Paris in November.

Gemma is currently raising money by undertaking a sponsored walk from Pennar to Freshwater East tomorrow (Saturday) in aid of two charities, 'Rainbow Child Foundation' and 'Headway East Kent Brain Injury Support'.

"I'm very excited to compete in this pageant," said Gemma. "I would love to represent Wales in the grand final! Hopefully all the har work and effort will pays off."
