An update by the developers of the site of the former Royal Gatehouse in Tenby was given to local councillors at their meeting this week.
At a previous meeting of Tenby Town Council, members had voiced their concern over the fact that little progress seemed to have taken place on the development since the Christmas period.
At Tuesday night's meeting, however, the town clerk, Mr. Andrew Davies, said that he had received a response on the matter from developer Simon Fry.
"We can confirm that the development isn't currently on stop, as the designs for the ground works and steel frame are underway and this couldn't be completed until the ground condition was uncovered," explained Mr. Fry.
"Ground workers will be back on site from next week to progress with construction," he continued, adding that he was happy to attend a future meeting of the council to give a more formal update on the development's progress.
