On Tuesday, October 28, there will be a meeting of the Gardeners Club... for enthusiasts when the speaker will be Elizabeth Whittle. Her talk is entitled 'How Our Gardens Developed'. What a massive subject for her to cover!
Elizabeth comes to talk to the club with an impressive list of credentials. She is the Inspector of Historic Parks and Gardens for Cadw and has published a book on Welsh gardens entitled 'The Historic Gardens of Wales'. She is also a garden historian and for nine years was joint editor of Garden History, the journal of the Garden History Society.
As usual the venue is Rudbaxton Community Hall, Crundale, starting at 2 pm. There is a large car park plus facilities for disabled people. Light refreshments will be served and of course guests will be very welcome.
Last month, the speaker was Sheena Crossley talking about 'Success with Roses'. Over 35 members and some visitors greatly enjoyed Sheena's return visit. She was also delighted to answer questions from the audience.
If anyone would like further information about the club and future events, please do not hesitate to contact either the chairman, Jill Foster, on (01437) 751241, or the secretary, Sue Paterson-Jones, on (01646) 682596.
