Outdoor learning and play for pupils at Stackpole VC School is set to become better than ever thanks to a £2,000 grant to redesign and develop the school's gardens.
Last week the school's PTA learned that its application to the Ernest Cook Trust to fund the exciting project had been successful.
The grant will help pay for an outdoor musical play area, along with additional seating, a makeover of the vegetable garden and a revamping of the playground designs.
Building on the school's success in 2014 when it achieved the prestigious Sustainable School's Gold Award, the pupils, through its school council, created the idea for a whole school project around the outdoor environment.
Stackpole VC School base leader, Mrs. Sandra Bryant, said: "This is fantastic news for the school. Due to our unique location in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park we already embrace outdoor learning as part of the curriculum.
"Being able to walk to one of the most beautiful beaches in the world and the proximity to fabulous woodlands is already a huge benefit to our pupils.
"This funding will enable us to inspire our pupils further by bringing even more aspects of the curriculum into the outdoor environment. Learning will undoubtedly become even more fun and interactive!"
Pupils' artwork will be incorporated into the design of the musical play area.
