Imperial Garages of Haverfordwest have teamed up with Pembrokeshire College Golf Academy to develop the stars of the future. As a result, Welsh national coach David Llewellyn will give four coaching master-classes a year to the students.

David, who has won several European tour events and secured the only World Cup win for Wales with Ian Woosnam, said: "I am delighted to have this opportunity. I intend to develop the golf academy into a regional centre of excellence by inviting all the local professionals to my training days which will be based on the same programme as the national squad."

Stephen Davies, managing director of Imperial Garages, added: "With my son Scott being a member of the golf academy, I have seen at close hand the improvement that the academy can make in young golfers. I particularly welcome the involvement of David who has been successful at the highest level in the game.

"Together with having Nick Faldo as patron of the Golf Academy and now a Fellow of the College, I would love to see one of the students succeed in the Faldo Series. I am delighted to be a part of this winning team."

The aim of the Golf Academy is to maximise students' academic and golfing potential and every year two students will have the opportunity to have a week's work experience with Nick Faldo.

Haverfordwest professional Alex Pile said: "This is as much about developing new exciting talent as well as improving established players. The sponsorship of Imperial Garages and the involvement of David Llewellyn will offer the opportunity for golf professionals from all clubs to become involved."
