A Local Action Group has been formed to maximise the benefits that Pembrokeshire can receive from the next round of EU funding for rural parts of Wales, which will start in January 2015. The Local Action Group, which will be facilitated and supported by PLANED, and consists of representatives of all sectors in the county, is now working on a development strategy, which will be sent for approval to the Welsh Government at the end of September. The acting chair of the Local Action Group is Nic Wheeler OBE, former chief executive of the National Park Authority, who said: "This is a great opportunity for all groups in Pembrokeshire to work together for the benefit of everyone in the county. I am delighted to be leading this work which can bring significant improvements to the quality of life in our communities." As part of this work, PLANED will be organising events across the county - get involved by joining them on Facebook Pembrokeshire2020, or follow them on twitter #pembrokeshire2020 . By bringing people together, PLANED helps bring more EU funding to the county. Find out more about us and some of things we have helped you achieve at http://www.planed.org.uk">www.planed.org.uk
