As previously announced, major repair works to the tower of St. Mary’s Church, Carew, will be taking place later in the year with the help of the Heritage Lottery Fund. The church is also pleased to announce that a £2,000 grant has also been received from the Allchurches Trust towards the work.

As part of the fundraising programme, two concerts will be held in the coming weeks. The first of these will be on Sunday, August 21, when Laudisti, a non-professional chamber choir from Mid-Wales, will be performing. There will be a-capella (unaccompanied) music to suit all tastes. The concert will commence at 7.30 pm and admission is £5.

On Friday, September 23, at 7 pm, the Welsh soprano Jessica Robinson will be accompanied by the Cor Vois Y Felin male voice choir. The church is lucky to get Jess as she has been performing all over the UK. A donation will be made to Medecins Sans Frontieres/‘Doctors Without Borders’.

Both concerts will be held in the church.
