The Welsh Assembly Government is to increase its grant to the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority by £273,000 - 6.9 per cent - for 2004/05.

This grant is worth £4.2 million to the authority, which also expects to raise a further £1.8m from fees, sales and grants from other bodies.

For each £1 funded by the Assembly, the Park Authority derives 49p from other sources.

The extra Assembly grant will be used to further support and extend various projects, including the Greenways public transport initiative, improvements to the footpath network and further development of the Authority's website.

In April, the National Park Authority is moving to its new headquarters at Pembroke Dock. This has already created one new post - a caretaker for the Llanion Park offices.

The Park Authority recently published its statement of accounts for 2002/03. This is available from its current Winch Lane, Haverfordwest, headquarters - tel. 0845 345 7275 - or online on http://www.pembrokeshirecoast.org.uk">www.pembrokeshirecoast.org.uk
