A scheme to light-up Tenby's historic town walls could soon be in place, as Pembrokeshire County Council have launched a Heritage Lottery funding bid. If successful, the funding would provide £100,000 towards the project, which was suggested by Tenby Town Council a few months ago. The county council are also to submit a planning application for the proposal to the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority in anticipation of the bid being successful. The first phase of any scheme would see the Five Arches lit up, with a view to then lighting the whole length of the town walls along South Parade. When discussing the matter at Tuesday night's meeting of the town council, Mayor, Clr. Trevor Hallett, wished the county council's Melissa Howells and her colleagues every success with the bid.
