The Nolan Charity Fund is organising a charity tandem skydive with Skydive Swansea on Sunday, April 2, 2017. The aim of the challenge is to raise money for the charity fund and help local causes in Pembrokeshire and throughout Wales with financial support.
The ‘Fall for the Fund’ skydive is open to anyone aged 16 or over, and as long as you are fit and healthy there is no upper age limit. There are 40 places available, with 20 for the morning dive and 20 jumping in the afternoon.
To take part skydivers will need to raise a minimum of £320 in sponsorship. The cost of the charity skydive is paid out of the sponsorship money and the rest will go to the Nolan Charity Fund. The payment includes the instructor and third party insurance. All that is required to book your tandem skydive is a £40 deposit.
Talking about the Charity’s first fundraising event of 2017, fundraising and events manager Sarah Cleevely said:
“This is a great new year’s resolution! This will be my second tandem skydive. It was a great experience first time around, but over way too quickly, so worth doing it again.
“For anyone taking part you simply have to raise a minimum of £320. £220 pays for your skydive and £100 will go to the Nolan Charity Fund. We hope that by taking on the challenge people will raise lots of money for the charity.”
The Nolan Charity Fund has already supported Tenovus Cancer Care, Myrddin Special Unit, Paul Popham Fund, Plant Dewi, Nofio Sir Gar, Raising Lolly for Evan and Oli, Diabetes UK Cymru and Kids Cancer Charity. The successful applicants that applied for funding in 2016 will be announced next month. The charity received almost 30 applications for financial support last year.
The charity is aiming to raise £36,000 from fundraising events this year, and the charity skydive follows the successful gala dinner held in December, which raised over £7,000. A zip glide at Parc y Scarlets in May is currently being planned along with other exciting fundraising events and challenges.
To book your tandem skydive by 20 February contact Sarah Cleevely on 07966 426439 or email [email protected]. Also contact the charity if you would like to take part in any other fundraising events.
