TENBY? Henby more like! At least that's the claim of HTV's 'Fun in the Sun' series which reports that the resort has become one of Britain's leading destinations for that last fling before you get hitched.

Arriving for their wild parties in next week's programme (Thursday, January 17, 7.30 pm) are Karen and Co. from Swansea, and Nicola's gang from Carmarthen.

So it's out with the vodka jellies and into the '70s gear for the Carmarthen girls.

But before the excesses of the evening, Karen and her friends take a boat trip over to Caldey to buy perfume and chocolate.

"There's no harm in these girls, it's all innocent fun," said Caldey boatman, Jimmy Crockford.

A long way from the monastic peace, the karaoke machine is working overtime at the Three Mariners pub. They love hen and stag nights there and soon it will be the venue for Karen's 'dares' - licking a bald man's head, bare back riding on another bloke and getting a third innocent Welshman into an embarrassing situation!

Meanwhile, the Carmarthen girls, in their fancy dress, have been turned down by one or two pubs. Hen and stag nights are not universally popular in Tenby. Some of the bingo playing regulars at the British Legion think they make the streets too raucous, particularly for family visitors.

'Fun in the Sun' is a Green Bay production for HTV. The director is Nia Dryhurst and the producers are Phil George and John Geraint.
