With the likes of The Simpsons, Shrek, and even the World Cup footballers' WAGs putting in an appearance, it can only mean one thing - no not a night in front of the box, but this year's annual Tenby's Firemen's Carnival!

The fun started early in the day on Wednesday with festivities centered around the town's Fire Station in South Parade, where a feast of fun for all the family took place.

As 5.15 pm approached, fancy dress walkers assembled in the Railway Station Car Park. Entrants featured everything from 'Scooby Doo and Friends' to Peggy Mitchell and her boys Phil and Grant, while amongst the lorryborne entries, a mock Haydn Miller and even a troop of lifeguards from Baywatch were on hand to make sure that no one got too wet with all the water fights that dominate the event.

Led by the Swansea East Carnival Display Band, the procession made its way through the streets of the town, with the West Lowland Battalion band from Scotland providing even more musical entertainment with some traditional sounds of the bagpipes.

The cavalcade reached its final destination at the harbour car park, where Mayor, Clr. Trevor Hallett, was on on hand to present the winners with their well-earned prizes.

Once again, the main recipient of the money raised by Tenby's dedicated band of retained firefighters during the course of the day was the Firemen's Benevolent Fund, with the whole Tenby crew of firefighters giving their thanks to all who took part and attended, with special thanks going to carnival sponsors, Tenby House Hotel, and the prize judges, the Watson family from Texas and the Jones family from Herefordshire.
