Another successful carnival was held at Templeton last Saturday. This year's Carnival Queen, Katie Phillips, was crowned by Templeton Community Association chairman, Mark Simpkins; the princess Rebecca Tanner was also crowned and the Knight Templar escort Sam Meredith was presented with a sword.

The weather stayed fine and the fancy dress classes were judged, once again giving the judges, Mr. and Mrs. P. Williams and Mr. and Mrs. Morgan, a difficult time. The overall winner was Thomas Faletau and co with Ben Ainslie's Olympic yacht.

Presentations were then made to this year's chosen charities, Paul Sartori, St. John Ambulance and Templeton YFC.

After the presentations, a full afternoon of entertainment followed, starting with Tom Alman and his street dancing display. Then the Free Wheelers entertained with their jazz music, followed by magician Phillip Jones, who kept the children glued to their seats, especially when the rabbit popped out of the hat. Finally, the ever popular Mat's Punch and Judy show ensured the children stayed in their seats (oh yes they did). A picnic tea for the children completed the afternoon.

As ever, the Templeton Community Association worked hard to ensure the afternoon was a great success and wish to thank everyone for their support.
