A Christmas bingo night at Haverfordwest Cricket Club brought in more than £550 for farming charity RABI.
The Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution (RABI) is a welfare charity which assists farming people of all ages in financial difficulty. During 2017, RABI has given out more than £18,000 to families in Pembrokeshire. Much of RABI’s funding comes from events arranged by voluntary supporters, businesses and community groups.
The bingo night was organised by RABI’s Pembrokeshire ladies’ committee and some fabulous prizes were on offer, including Christmas poultry vouchers. There were also 25 raffle prizes up for grabs.
Linda Jones, RABI regional manager for Wales, said: “I would like to thank the ladies’ committee in Pembrokeshire for hosting this special night, which was well attended and great fun.”
Rebecca Voyle, Pembrokeshire ladies’ committee vice-chair, added: “We’ve had tremendous support throughout the year for our events in Pembrokeshire and it means a great deal to us.”
People must have limited savings and be on a low income to qualify for RABI’s help. If you, or someone you know in farming, is in need of RABI’s support, please call the confidential Freephone Helpline 0808 281 9490.
