This year’s pancake race in aid of Tenby RNLI will be held on Tuesday, February 16, 12 noon in Tudor Square, followed by, the increasingly popular, pancake dinner at Fourcroft Hotel, 7 pm.

2015 saw a record number of entrants in the kids’ races, to the point that an additional race had to be run to reduce the number of runners at the same time.

This year, race categories will be: race one - three-five years; race two - six-eight years; race three - nine-12 years; race four - women’s; race five - men’s/chefs; and race six - crew (as long as there is no call-out).

Prizes will be given to each winner who successfully crosses the line with their pancake intact and having flipped their pancake a total of six times. The prizes have been kindly donated by local businesses, Tees ‘R’ Us, Fourcroft Hotel, Jewellery Junky, Smart Kids, Morris Brothers and a number of individual donations.

Last year, Sam Askew (head chef at Fourcroft Hotel) ran away with the title of ‘Tenby’s Number One Tosser.’ This year, he will be returning to defend this title. Are you chef enough to challenge him this year? Let’s see the chef talent of Tenby really show off their skills.

Organisers have been told that, alongside our faithful Gareth Davies Photography, a TV crew will be filming the races in conjunction with local events and the RNLI crew - so best running gear at the ready.

Registration will be outside the Baytree, Tudor Square, and will start at 11.15 am, with a £3 entrance fee per runner to qualify for winner prizes.

Tickets for the two-course pancake dinner at Fourcroft Hotel can be purchased directly from Fourcroft or at Dale’s Music Shop, High Street.
