TENBY-based portrait artist, Jean Duncan BA, has recently been selected to exhibit in the Society of Women Artists' open exhibition, under the patronage of HRH Princess Michael of Kent. The event will be hosted at the highly prestigious Mall Galleries, near Buckingham Palace, from May 31 to June 10. Gloria Hunniford will officially open the exhibition and present the awards. Originally from Shanghai, China, Jean appears to be following in her family's footsteps. She represents the third generation of artists in her family line. Her uncle is famous throughout China and has repeatedly taken first prize in exhibitions held at the National Gallery, Beijing. Jean is entirely self taught, but has quickly established a reputation for fine portraiture, Chinese art and landscapes of the stunning Pembrokeshire coastline - a constant source inspiration along with the local community. She has exhibited throughout the UK. Additional information on The Society of Women artists can be found on their website. The organisation exists to give talented women artists an opportunity to exhibit their work.
