The Friends of Pembrokeshire National Park are holding their first open meeting of 2003 on Wednesday, February 19. The well-known local author and journalist Sybil Edwards-McBrearty will give a talk on the Milford Haven Waterways that is also the subject of her book published last year.
The talk, which is open to the public, will start at 7.30 pm in the conference room at Haverfordwest library and will be followed by coffee and the chance to talk to Sybil and the members of the Friends society.
The Friends of Pembrokeshire National Park is an independent voluntary association with charity status that is committed to help protect, conserve and enhance the National Park for all to enjoy. Contrary to popular belief, it has no financial or administrative links with the statutory Park Authority. The members act as a watchdog and are the eyes and ears of the association and play an active role in alerting the executive committee to issues of concern. News and Views is the title of the association's popular magazine for members.
Details about the Friends can be obtained by telephoning 01834 837457.
