The committee of Manorbier and District Twinning Association would like to thank the community for the support it gave with all the fund-raising events prior to the recent visit of their friends from Vernou.

Special thanks go to Mr. Roy Thomas for organising the tree-planting ceremony at Manorbier castle grounds. This was held in special significance and requested personally by the French visitors.

During their stay, a magnificent picnic was held at Skrinkle Centre, helped by some Celtic musical charm and a disco.

Visits were made to Llanarthne Botanical Gardens and Pemberton Chocolate Factory, culminating in a grand buffet supper at Castle Mead.

Gratitude goes to all the hosts who enabled the trip to be such a success.

Forthcoming events include a Jubilee barbecue at Manorbier Post Office on June 1 and a Beaujolais Nouveau cheese and wine evening in November at a venue yet to be decided.
