FOURCROFT Hotel, Tenby, will continue the series of musical brunches this Sunday, November 18, with a jazz brunch session from Pembrokeshire's musical legends, the Freewheelers Jazz Band.

From the swing of Ellington to Dixieland and Louis Armstrong, the Freewheelers Jazz Band music is located firmly in the mainstream pond. You won't hear the more experimental jazz associated with the likes of Bird or Ornette in their repertoire. They stick to what they know and love, and it's the sort of thing their audiences want.

That's not to imply the Freewheelers merely recreate, albeit technically proficient, copies of familiar standards. Not at all, for in the true spirit of jazz innovation, they create their own original arrangements of classic tunes.

The Freewheelers have an illustrious performing history stretching back to the '60s with the Freewheelers' mainman, Dennis Wheeler on sax and clarinet, trombonist Gareth Louden, Pete on electric guitar, Nick on electric bass, and drummer Bob beating out the rhythm at the back.

Dick Williams, who is usually on cornet, is leaving the famous five to give the Fourcroft brunchers a taste of New Orleans.

Recent blues and jazz sessions have sold out, so call the Fourcroft on (01834) 842886 to book your table for fine food and great music, and the chance to explore Tenby's many delights during the quiet season.
