Saturday, October 11, saw the Ian Botham Valleys Walk come to a close at Newport Rugby Club after a final two-mile lap around the city.

This final lap opened up the opportunity for many eager fund-raisers to join the sports star in raising money for the Noah's Ark Appeal, which raises funds for the children's hospital in Wales.

Heatherton were very pleased that their mascot, Freddy the Fox, was able to walk the last two miles carrying a collection bucket for the cause. As well as raising lots of money for the appeal, Freddy kept many of the children entertained, both along the walk and at the rugby club as he danced along to Real Radio's stage show!

Despite the incredible sunshine at Newport, Freddy completed the walk with the Noah's Ark Appeal mascots in approximately 30 minutes!

Heatherton are currently developing a new way of raising funds for the Noah's Ark Appeal, which will take place throughout 2004.
